The Optimist Club of Orangeville has been bringing Christmas in The Park for over 30 years. It started with a group of volunteers stringing a few lights on trees in Kay Cee Gardens. It has since grown to include fantastic illuminated characters, millions of dazzling lights, music, entertainment, and festive community displays. Throughout December, the park will be open every evening from 5:30 to 10 p.m. (weather permitting).
About Christmas in the Park CiTP is a free community event created by the dedicated members of the Orangeville Optimist Club who spend a good part of the year creating this magical world of lights, exhibits and entertainment for the whole family. Every year volunteer Optimist members bring fresh new lighting and exciting displays to the park. This year, they worked for several months to design, build, paint and decorate two new displays. Visitors will enjoy a giant spectacular wooden Gingerbread House accompanied by Santa's Workshop, complete with little industrious elves who hammer, saw and drill to build new toys as Santa waves from within.
It is with the generous financial donations from Sponsors of Christmas in The Park, their only fundraiser, that the Optimist Club is able to support and participate in programs that enrich the lives of youth in our community, including Family Transition Place, Scouts, Guides, High School Bursaries, Youth Empowerment Day, Bike Rodeo, Junior Golf, and much more.
