Visitors can join our experienced staff in a free Learn to Fish session where you will learn about fishing in winter and ice safety. Sessions start every 30 minutes.

Family Day is also the last day of the annual Ice Fishing Derby. Purchase a ticket and see if you can catch the big one. An Ontario Fishing Licence is not required, as it is Ontario Family Fishing weekend.

After your adventure, warm up by the campfire with the Friends of Island Lake. Hotdogs and s'mores kits are available for purchase to roast over the open flames. Visitors can also chat with the Orangeville Rotary Club as you grab a complimentary hot chocolate.
