Reel in a Big Catch at the Annual Derby

Join us for our annual Ice Fishing Derby at Island Lake Conservation Area. Cash prizes for northern pike, black crappie, and yellow perch in the adult category. Prizes in the youth category.

Early Bird Prize

Register early, before February 6, 2026 at noon, for the opportunity to win a Family Credit Valley Parks Annual Pass.

Registration Fees

• Adults (13+) $35, plus HST.
• Youth (12 years or younger) $10, plus HST.
• Daily park admission fees apply.
• Credit Valley Parks pass holders receive free park entrance.

Event Notes

• This event runs from 8:00 AM on Saturday February 7th to 3:00 PM on Monday February 16th. Prizes will be awarded for all eligible categories on Monday February 16th at 3:30 PM. 
• This event is limited to 300 registrants.
• A valid Ontario fishing licence is required to participate in the derby. Ontario Family Fishing Weekend takes place February 14-16. This is a license-free fishing weekend.
• No live outside bait. Bait can be purchased on-site at the rental shop.
