Event Details:
When you read Ali Smith, something strange occurs. It almost feels like she is reading you as much as you are reading her. She is right there with Beckett, Woolf, and Baldwin, for the reverence that she arouses in the written word and the privilege of knowing and using it.
This February 26th from 7-8:30 PM, join local writer and teacher, Anthony Carnovale, for a deep dive into the heart of experimental fiction inspired by the remarkable writing of Ali Smith.
In this one-day workshop, we will examine different elements of experimental fiction, such as plot, characterization, rhythm, and structure. We’ll look at the rules of fiction, and then blow them up into a million pieces, challenging the conventions of storytelling, inviting each participant to redefine what it means to tell a story. After all, as Ali Smith once stated, "There's always, there'll always be, more story. That's what story is."
**This workshop will be available for in-person and remote attendees*
